Oversized Package

There is an additional fee for packages considered to be oversized. Specifications for the oversized shipment fees are dependent on the courier which are detailed below. For more details and further additional fees, please refer to the courier services guides provided. We keep you informed when creating your shipment on the possibility of receiving an oversized charge. Once you enter your dimensions and weight that could be considered an oversized shipment, we notify you through a popup with the ability to review the fees prior to completing your shipment.

The oversized shipment flag will appear on your review/confirm page if any your dimensions exceed at least one of the courier maximums. 

Courier Oversize Fees

• Purolator

An oversized fee applies for any package that weighs more than 70 lb (32 kg) but less than or equal to 150 lb (68 kg) or the longest side measures more than 48 in (122 cm) and less than or equal to 108 in (274 cm).

A large package fee applies when the combined length and girth measures between 130 in (330 cm) and 165 in (419 cm).

• Canada Post

No one dimension may exceed 2 m (78.7 in). The max Length + Girth must equal 3m (118 in). The max weight for a package must be 30 kg (66 lb.)

• GLS

A surcharge will be applied to each package when its length plus girth [(2 x width) + (2 x height)] combined exceeds 130 inches, but does not exceed the maximum GLS Canada size of 165 inches. Large packages are subject to a minimum billable weight of 90 pounds in addition to the Large
Package Surcharge. 

• Loomis

The maximum weight for any package when shipping with this courier can not be greater than 70 pounds (32 kg). An oversized package is considered as any package or article which measures greater than 48 inches (122 centimeters) in length or a second longest dimension greater than 32 inches (82 centimeters). 

• DHL Canada

Oversized piece charge applies when a single dimension exceeds 48 in (122 cm). An overweight charge applies when the weight exceeds 150 lb (70 kg).
