Shipment Protection Coverage Summary

ShipSimple has got you covered! We provide comprehensive Shipment Protection (insurance coverage) for goods while in transit, ensuring protection against loss or damage. Below, you will find detailed information about the terms and policy conditions of our Shipment Protection.

Types of Shipments Covered:

• Parcels

Coverage Details:

• Currency: CAD (Canadian Dollars)
• Coverage Limit: Up to $250,000 per Couriered Shipment
• Deductible: None (Nil)

This policy covers:

• All risks cargo insurance (the broadest form of coverage available) for the full exposure, for the full value of the cargo.
• Protection for freight costs as well as an allowance for a mark-up (up to 10%) to cover additional costs incurred in the handling of a claim.
• Warehouse to warehouse protection ie Door to Door (But has to be declared as such AND no country restrictions).
• Covers all modes of transit that are available under the program
• Coverage includes Acts of God, terrorism, war, strikes, riots, etc.
• Coverage applies irrespective of the number of carriers/subcontractors involved in the shipment.
• Policy pays irrespective of who is responsible for the loss or damage.
• No need to prove fault on the part of the carriers.
• Insurance Valuation of CIF+10%

Valuation Clause:

The valuation of goods, merchandise, or property insured will be declared and rated at the invoice product cost. However, there are flexible options for valuation at the time of booking coverage, which include:

1. Cost, Insurance, and Retail Freight, plus an additional 10%
   
   
2. Invoice value including all charges, Retail Freight, and Packing cost, if any
   
   
3. As required by the Insured’s customers and agreed upon by insurers prior to shipment
   
   
4. As agreed by insurers prior to any known or reported loss, such as:
   
   
   • Cost, Insurance, Retail Freight, and Transportation Services cost

Additionally, duty and/or taxes may be declared separately and insured for the amount payable, as required, prior to the shipment.

Please note, when applicable, shipments are subject to the following clauses:

Covering All Risks of physical loss or damage subject to the following Clauses: (as applicable to Inland Transit)

Shipments on deck under an On Deck Bill of Lading are subject to the following Clauses:

• Institute Cargo Clauses (C) 1.1.82

All shipments are subject to the following clauses (if applicable):

• Institute War Clauses (Cargo) 1.1.82
• Institute War Clauses (Air Cargo) (excluding sending by Post) 1.1.82
• Institute Strikes Clauses (Cargo) 1.1.82 amended to include Institute
• Malicious Damage Clause 1.1.82 & Termination of Transit Clause (Terrorism) 1.1.2002
• Institute Strikes Clauses (Air Cargo) 1.1.82 amended to include
• Malicious Damage Clause 1.1.82 & Termination of Transit Clause (Terrorism) 1.1.2002
• Institute Radioactive Contamination, Chemical, Biological, Bio-chemical and Electromagnetic Weapons Exclusion Clause
• Inland Transit Clause
